MAMA T’S, THE NEW EATERY ON 4TH STREET, WILL BE OPEN ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8.  THEY WILL BE OFFERING TASTINGS AND SAMPLINGS OF THEIR YUMMY MENU!    GREAT TIME TO CHECK IT OUT IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY “SAMPLED” THEIR FINE FOODS!

AND REMEMBER, YOU CAN STILL BUY YOUR HOME TOUR TICKETS UNTIL 2:30  FOR THE TOUR WHICH WILL START AT 3:00.  IF YOU’RE RIDING THE BUS, BE AT CITY HALL NOT LATER THAN 2:45.

CHRISTMAS STROLL EVENTS – DETAILS!

The Merchants Association welcomes everyone to our 30th Annual Christmas Stroll!  Below are the details for each day’s event.

NOV 8, SUNDAY:  SHOWPLACE HOME TOUR.  GORGEOUS HOMES – YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS THIS EVENT!

TIME:  3:00 TO 7:00 PM.  TICKETS AVAILABLE AT DOWNTOWN EMPORIUM AND GEHLHAUSEN’S FLOWERS & GIFTS.

COST:  $10.00 PER PERSON FOR TOUR, PLUS $10.00 PER PERSON FOR BUS TOUR.  MAPS WILL BE GIVEN WITH PURCHASE OF TICKET FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO DRIVE THEMSELVES.

NOV 9, MONDAY:  LANTERN LAUNCH

LOCATION:  NEW LOCATION!!:  MENS SOFTBALL FIELD BEHIND LEAGUE STADIUM!!

TIME:  6:00 PM (ARRIVE AT 5:00 TO READY YOUR LANTERN!)

COST:  $3.00 PER LANTERN

LOCAL 3RD GRADE ESSAY WINNERS WILL BE GIVEN FREE LANTERNS AND BE THE FIRST TO SEND THEIR LANTERNS OFF.  ESSAYS WILL BE BOUND SO EVERYONE CAN SHARE.

NOV 10, TUESDAY  TREE LIGHTING, LIGHT UP 4TH STREET AND STORYTIME AT LIBRARY.

TIME:  6:00 – STORYTIME IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWS THE TREE LIGHTING.

THERE WILL BE GREAT STORIES TOLD AND GOODIE BAGS FOR ALL THE CHILDREN.

NOV 11, WEDNESDAY  MISTLETOE WALK FOR K9

LOCTION:  CHARLES E. NIEHAUS PARK

TIME:  6:00 – WALK WILL START.  REGISTRATION STARTS AT 5:00 PM

COST:  $20.00 PRE-REGISTRATION; $25.00 DAY OF EVENT.  TEE SHIRTS WITH PRE-REGISTRATION.  FORMS AVAILABLE AT BETH CARTER EXQISITE BRIDAL.  CALL BETH AT 812-683-3777.

BRING YOUR DOG!  THERE WILL BE DOG GOODIES AT THE END OF THE WALK (AND PEOPLE GOODIES, TOO!).  DON’T HESITATE TO WEAR YOUR ANTLERS OR SANTA HAT, OR THAT UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER!  ALL WALKERS WILL BE GIVEN GLO NECKLACES TO WEAR.  ALL PROCEED GO TO THE HUNTINGBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THEIR K9 UNIT – GREAT CAUSE, GREAT EVENT!

NOVEMBER 12, THURSDAY  GIVING BACK THURSDAY

TIME:  ALL DAY EVENT – 10:00 AM TO 6:00 PM.

LOCATION:  PARTCIPATING RETAILERS ON 4TH STREET.

BENEFICIARY:  SHARED ABUNDANCE

MOST STORES WILL HAVE A GIFT-WRAPPED BOX IN THEIR STORE OR AT THEIR STOREFRONT TO ACCEPT DONATIONS OF NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS, ALL OF WHICH WILL GO DIRECTLY TO SHARED ABUNDANCE.  SOME STORES MAY ALSO HAVE A CASH DONATION BOX INSIDE THE STORE FOR THOSE WHO TO SHARE THEIR ABUNDANCE THAT WAY.  GREAT WAY TO HELP THIS ORGANIZATION HELP OTHERS!

NOVEMBER 13, FRIDAY  MUSEUM AND CHRISTMAS HOUSE OPEN

TIME:  5:00PM TO 9:00 PM – MUSEUM & CHRISTMAS HOUSE OPEN

MUSEUM LOCATION – CITY HALL; CHRISTMAS HOUSE 519 E. 4TH STREET

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8:  SHOWPLACE HOME TOUR FROM 3:00 TO 7:00 PM.  WE HAVE 5 GORGEOUS HOMES FOR YOU TO TOUR.  SINCE THIS IS A DRIVING TOUR, YOU CAN DRIVE YOURSELF OR BUY A BUS TICKET TO JUST SIT BACK AND RELAX.  TOUR TICKETS ARE $10.00.  BUS TICKET IS ANOTHER $10.00.  IF YOU’VE ALWAYS TAKEN THIS TOUR, YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS ONE!

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9:  LANTERN LAUNCH AT METHODIST CHURCH 6:00 PM.  LETTERS WRITTEN BY LOCAL SCHOOL CHILDREN WILL BE ATTACHED TO THE LANTERNS, ALONG WITH AN IDENTIFYING STICKER.  LET’S SEE HOW FAR ONE OF THESE WILL TRAVEL!  MORE INFO ON THIS EVENT TO FOLLOW SHORTLY!

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 10:  TREE LIGHTING AND LIGHT UP THE STREET.  STORYTIME AT THE LIBRARY.  THERE WILL BE GOODY BAGS FOR THE KIDDIES!

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 11: MISTLETOE WALK AT 6:00 PM AT NIEHAUS PARK.  THERE IS A $20.00 ADVANCE REGISTRATION FEE.  PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 26!!  FEE DAY OF EVENT IS $25.00.  PRICE GUARANTEES A TEE SHIRT FOR PRE-REGISTRANTS.  IT WOULD BE GREAT (AND FUN) IF ALL PARTICIPANTS DRESSED UP FESTIVELY IN UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATERS, ANTLERS, ETC. GLO NECKLACES WILL BE PROVIDED.  PET DOGS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND!!  THERE WILL BE TREATS FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS (INCLUDING THE DOGGIES!).   ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS EVENT WILL BENEFIT THE HUNTINGBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THEIR QUEST TO BUY AND FUND A K-9 UNIT.

MERCHANTS CHRISTMAS STROLL COMMITTEE HAS BEEN WORKING LONG AND HARD TO PUT TOGETHER A SPECIAL “WEEK-LONG” STROLL THIS YEAR!  THERE ARE SOME CHANGES TO THE USUAL PROGRAM (LIKE THE HOME TOUR) AND SEVERAL NEW EVENTS ARE SCHEDULED.  SO, BE SURE TO KEEP THESE DATES ON HAND!

Mon, Nov 9: Lantern Launch

Tue, Nov 10: Official Tree Lighting & Light up 4th Street, Story Time (Library)

Wed, Nov 11: Mistletoe Trot (5K)  Proceeds from this event will benefit the Huntingburg Police Department in the purchase of a K-9 Unit.

Thu, Nov 12:   Give Back Night!  Bring canned goods to retailers and receive a discount or freebie!  This event benefits Shared Abundance on 4th Street

Fri, Nov 13: Old Fashioned Christmas characters, Hospitality House & Museum open

Sat, Nov 14: Carriage Rides, Mr & Mrs Santa, Museum Open, Celebration Singers

Sun, Nov 15: carriage rides, Christmas Parade

THIRD ANNUAL HAUNTED HUNTINGBURG EVENT – SCHEDULE OF EVENTS!!

Haunted Huntingburg Event Scheduled for October 9 and 10 

Huntingburg, Ind. – Destination Huntingburg’s third annual Haunted Huntingburg event will take place Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10, 2015. A new event added this year includes a blues festival on Market Street, featuring headliner The Boscoe France Band. France was the 2012 winner of Guitar Center’s Battle of the Blues competition, defeating over 4,000 competitors nationwide.

A county-wide house decorating contest will take place prior to the Haunted Huntingburg event.  To register, please visit www.hauntedhuntingburg.com to fill out the form, or call City Hall at 683-2211.  There will be two judging categories – “Spookiest” and “Judges’ Choice.”  Judging will take place on Thursday, October 8 with winners being announced at the Blues Fest.

On Friday, October 9 a movie night will be held at The Gaslight, located at 328 E 4th Street in Huntingburg. The movie will start at 9:00 p.m.

On Saturday, October 10 the Zombie 5K will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Old Town Hall, located at 309 N. Geiger Street. Early registration will take place until Thursday, September 24. The fee is $20 and includes a t-shirt. Registration after September 24 is $25. Zombie makeovers are available for participants by request and based on availability.

The Blues Fest will take place from 12:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Market Street. Activities include live blues music; food and vendor booths; childrens’ activities including inflatable bounce houses, train rides, carnival games and face painting; and a Cajun cook-off.

At 8:00 p.m., an outdoor community movie night will be held on 4th Street.  A family-friendly movie will be begin at 8:00 p.m. and a horror movie will be shown at 10:15 p.m.  Everyone is encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs and refreshments.

Registration forms for Haunted Huntingburg events are available at Huntingburg City Hall, Around the Corner, Optimal Performance Chiropractic and Dubois County Visitors Center.

RETAILERS WILL HAVE TABLES OUT WITH FABULOUS DEALS FOR YOU AND OTHERS WILL BE OFFERING GREAT DISCOUNTS INSIDE THEIR STORES!

CHAIRS & BENCHES WILL BE SET ALL ALONG 4TH STREET SO YOU CAN RELAX AND WATCH THE WORLD GO BY OR JUST LISTEN TO THE WONDERFUL MUSIC FLOWING OVER THE STREET!
